SportsNewser was in attendance at ESPN’s annual upfront presentation in New York, as ESPN unveiled a slate of new programming for ESPN2, the Spanish-language ESPN Deportes and for the network’s digital properties.

The centerpiece was a new afternoon lineup for ESPN2. The channel will add two new half-hour programs in “Dan Le Batard is Highly Questionable,” hosted by Miami-based sports columnist Dan Le Batard, as well as “Numbers Don’t Lie,” which is designed to appear to fantasy players and stat freaks by looking at the sports stories of the day in a new way.

“Numbers Don’t Lie” will run at 3:30 PM, with Le Batard’s program airing at 4 PM. To make way for the new shows, “SportsNation,” which has become ESPN2′s signature show, will move to 5 PM.

The NFL Network declined to comment when asked by SI.com and no formal announcement on Mayock is expected for several weeks.

Play-by-play announcer Bob Papa could be next on the hot seat.

Gus Johnson, who calls NFL games for CBS, is on the radar of executives at the NFL Network.

Clippers Announcer Misses Game Due To Traffic

I’m sure you’ve heard stories about how bad traffic is in Southern California.

(As a Los Angeleno, I can tell you it’s all true.)

Los Angeles Clippers play-by-play announcer Ralph Lawler fell victim to the traffic on Wednesday night, missing a rare Clippers victory as a result.

A series of fatal accidents on Interstate 10 made the freeway a standstill, making it impossible for Lawler to make it to Staples Center in time.

In case you’re wondering why Lawler couldn’t take the streets to work – he lives in La Quinta, Calif., 135 miles east of Staples Center.

You have to really love the Clippers to commute two hours each way for work.
