On Tuesday, after Casey Anthony was acquitted of murder by the jury in Florida, one of her attorneys Cheney Mason, held a press conference where he chastised the media, criticizing the practice of “lawyers going on television to talk about cases they don’t know a damn thing about.”

There was just one problem: before joining Anthony’s defense team, Mason himself appeared on TV to talk about the case… which he knew nothing about at the time.

While the jurors who acquitted Casey Anthony of killing her 2-year-old daughter aren’t talking to the media, Anthony’s attorneys are — at least to one network.

Fox News Channel’s Geraldo Rivera got an interview with Jose Baez and Cheney Mason.

Rivera, who is also an attorney (Brooklyn Law ’69) said, “From lawyer to two lawyers who have litigated their tails off in a very successful way, however unpopular it may be to most of the people watching that right now. But, as a lawyer to lawyers, I congratulate you on a really brilliant outcome and good luck to you going forward.”

Earlier, at a news conference following the verdict, Mason had some not so kind words for the media: “Well, I hope that this is a lesson to those of you having indulged in media assassination for three years.”
