O’Reilly to Beck: ‘I thought you [were] kind of winding down… you’ve got more people hating you.’

Glenn Beck calls his fake vomit reaction to a naked from-the-neck-down Meghan McCain “juvenile” but went on to tell Bill O’Reilly, “I’ve had enough of Meghan McCain, as she’s had of me.”

During his weekly stop on The Factor, O’Reilly added, “If I was Cindy McCain I’d slap the hell out of you… I’ll let her beat the hell out of you right here on this program.”

Katie and Kate At Maria Shriver Confab

Couric_7.9.jpgFormer NBC News anchor turned California first lady Maria Shriver is finalizing the guest list for her Annual Women’s Conference this fall.

On this list: Katie Couric, Cindy McCain, Elizabeth Edwards, and Kate Gosselin of “John & Kate Plus 8″ (minus John) fame.

According to E!Online, the Gosselin invitation was the idea of Shriver’s daughters who are fans of the show. The invites were sent out five months ago – before the family started making tabloid headlines.

The SF Chronicle reports NBC’s David Gregory will moderate a panel at the event which will include Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Shriver.

McCain and the Media: CNBC, CNN, FNC

mccain_10-28.jpgCNBC’s Maria Bartiromo interviewed Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, today as they campaigned in Hershey, PA. The live interview took place just after 9:30amET, and additional portions will air throughout the day, with the entire interview airing on Closing Bell at 4pmET and “Wall Street Crisis” at 7pmET.

Also today, FNC’s Sean Hannity interviews John McCain and Cindy McCain, which airs tonight on Hannity & Colmes at 9pmET.

Tomorrow McCain will be on Larry King Live (although without Palin, as King was hoping for). McCain canceled a King appearance after a tough interview between Campbell Brown and Tucker Bounds in August.

We’ll let Larry King’s Website hype the appearance: “John McCain! Fighting an uphill battle for the presidency. Hear what he has to say following Barack Obama‘s paid address. The stakes are sky-high!”

Fox News Would Like To Talk To You About Your New York Times Subscription

Fox News has been covering the McCain campaign’s “outrage” over a Cindy McCain profile in the New York Times this weekend. But besides just reporting the story throughout the day, FNC has made it easy for those equally outraged — with a cancellation phone number and complaint email address in their lower thirds:

Sawyer Interviews Candidates’ Wives For Upcoming Specials

sawyer_9-10.JPGDiane Sawyer will anchor two hour-long ABC News specials about the presidential candidates and their families, airing September 26 at 8pm and October 3 at 10pm.

“It’s about the candidates and their families, but really about these iconic stories,” the Good Morning America anchor tells TVNewser.

For the specials, Sawyer has interviewed both Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama already. “I had a chance to speak with the wives of the candidates and they tell us about their husbands as they see them,” she says. “As candidates, as fathers, as husbands.”

The details of how the two specials will be broken up is not yet determined, and Sawyer tells us there may be updated interviews to come. The September 26 special will be the lead-in to the first presidential debate.

“It’s about the turning points in their lives, the transforming moments of their lives,” she says.

RNC & Gustav: Prime Time Notes

We’ve gotten word from network insiders here in St. Paul, what the plan is for cable coverage tonight:

• Fox News Channel will remain live until 2amET tomorrow morning (later if news warrants) with coverage from the Gulf coast and reports from the RNC as well. Greta Van Susteren interviewed Laura Bush and Cindy McCain to air later tonight. Shepard Smith anchors a special hour at 11pmET. Fox & Friends will begin at 5amET tomorrow.

• On CNN Campbell Brown anchors a two hour Hurricane/RNC special from 7-9pmET. Larry King Live will air live at both 9pm & Midnight. And AC360 from 10-12pmET. Anderson Cooper has an exclusive interview with Sen. Barack Obama.

• MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann anchors coverage from New York from 7pm-11pmET. Chris Matthews will provide reports from Xcel Center and the RNC. Morning Joe is back on the schedule tomorrow from St. Paul.

And as mentioned earlier all three broadcast networks will produce 10pmET specials which will be focused heavily on Hurricane Gustav but include coverage from the truncated day #1 of the RNC. On ABC it will be a special edition of 20/20, NBC’s is a Dateline special, and CBS will produce a special report at 10pmET.
