In October, Fox News had the top 14 programs in total viewers and the top eight programs in the key A25-54 demographic. As usual, “The O’Reilly Factor” was the number one program in cable news in both total and demo viewers, averaging 2,834,000 total viewers and 458,000 demo viewers. In its debut month, Megyn Kelly‘s “The Kelly File” was second in both total viewers and demo viewers, bumping “The Five” back to third in both ratings measurements.
“Hardball with Chris Matthews” led MSNBC in total viewers, placing 15th overall and averaging 1,122,000 viewers. “The Rachel Maddow Show” was the network’s top rated program in the demo, placing ninth overall and averaging 277,000 viewers.
“Anderson Cooper 360″ was the top CNN program in total viewers and the demo, placing 21st and 18th, respectively. The show averaged 7-6,000 total viewers and 211,000 A25-54 viewers for the month of October.
“Weekend Mysteries” led HLN in total viewers and the demo, placing 46th and 38th, respectively. The show averaged 337,000 total viewers and 125,000 demo viewers.
The 3pmET hour of “Closing Bell” led CNBC in total viewers with “American Greed” leading the network in the demo. “Varney & Company” led FBN in total viewers and “Stossel” topped in the demo.
