David Akers Thanks Philly Fans on Billboard

Longtime Eagles kicker David Akers, who joined the 49ers this season following a dozen seasons in Philadelphia, thanked Philly fans with a billboard message posted along Interstate 95 near the team’s home stadium of Lincoln Financial Field. The message reads, “Thanks Philly for blessing me for 12 years and your support on and off the field — May God Bless You All, David Akers.”

Akers, a five-time Pro Bowler who is the 17th most accurate kicker in NFL history, will face the Eagles on Oct. 2 when the 49ers come to Philadelphia.
