Musician Darius Rucker (remember Hootie & the Blowfish?) was on “GMA” earlier this week with Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Juju Chang, and Sam Champion to promote a special edition of “Your 3 Words” — a segment which is seen every Saturday on “Good Morning America” weekend where it debuted in the summer of 2007.

The New York Times Asks When a Hot Wing Is Not a Hot Wing


The shiny 10-inch-wide tin of nachos enticing Carolyn Thalin at the mahogany bar of the Stadium Grill in Manhattan was not your normal gloop-coated pile of tortilla chips. Inspired by the chef David Burke’s can o’ cake at his high-end restaurant Fishtail, it was constructed with layers of chips, cheese, black beans, more chips, cheese and beans, and – once baked, topped with salsa, sour cream, jalapeño, guacamole, scallions and more cheese – it was devised to be suffused with flavor right to the very bottom of the tin.

And thus begins The New York Timesinvestigation into the brave new world of sports bar food.

But it’s okay, because there are only 1,700 more words in the story.

Bob Schieffer’s Debate Preps Include Grand Ole Opry Warm Up

While all eyes will be on Nashville tomorrow night, Bob Schieffer made his debut at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry last night. Schieffer and his band Honky Tonk Confidential were on the same bill as stars Darius Rucker, and Brad Paisley.

While his colleague Tom Brokaw moderates tomorrow’s Presidential debate in Nashville, Schieffer will moderate the final debate next Wednesday night from Hofstra University.

The Ticker: Schieffer, Toobin, Matthews…

> CBS’ Bob Schieffer will have a busy day tomorrow has a busy week. Besides presidential debate coverage, he made his Grand Ole Opry debut Sunday, as his band, Honky Tonk Confidential, takes the stage along with several other acts, including Darius Rucker and Trisha Yearwood.
