This morning on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos, the roundtable made their predictions as to the outcome of Tuesday night.

Mark Halperin, Time Magazine
Electoral Vote — 349 Obama
Senate — 59 Democratic seats
House — Democrats net 28 House seats

Matthew Dowd, former Republican strategist:

House — 17 plus pickup for Democrats

George Will, ABC News contributor:

House — Democrats pick up 29

George Stephanopoulos:
Electoral Vote — 353 Obama
Senate — 58, or 59 if there’s a run-off in Georgia.
House — 264 House Democrats (+28)

For what it’s worth Pres. Clinton won 370 electoral votes in 1992, 379 electoral votes in 1996. Pres. Bush won 271 electoral votes in 2000 and 286 electoral votes in 2004.

Split Decision for Sunday Morning Shows

This Week with George Stephanopoulos edged out NBC’s Meet the Press in the A25-54 demo last Sunday. MTP still beat all its public affairs competitors in Total Viewers. The economic crisis was the big topic on all the shows. ABC had Treasury Secy. Hank Paulson, Sen. Chris Dodd and Rep. John Boehner as guests. As well as a roundtable that included Democratic strategist Donna Brazile.

MTP also had Paulson as well as New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and a roundtable with CNBC’s Steve Liesman and Erin Burnett and the Washington Post’s Steve Pearlstein.

The last time ABC beat NBC in the demo was January 27, 2008 when This Week had Sen. Barack Obama on the broadcast. Interestingly, as the primary battles were heating up, Sen. John McCain was a guest on Meet the Press that day.

Sept. 21, 2008 Total Viewers A25-54 Viewers
Meet the Press 3,560,000 1,140,000
This Week 3,080,000 1,150,000
Face the Nation 2,710,000 1,080,000
FOX News Sunday 1,140,000 550,000

Also, for the 2007/2008 season, This Week placed second outperforming CBS’ Face the Nation among Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo. This marks the program’s first second place finish since Stephanopoulos began as anchor in September 2002 and its first second place finish among both Total Viewers and the demo in seven years (since the 2000/2001 season).

Dance Party at CNN Grill

dnc_8-24.gifThe CNN grill has been a hotbed of activity during the Democratic National Convention.

Jamie Foxx and Ashley Judd caused a stir when they stopped by last night, and Spike Lee took up an afternoon seat outside. Even non-CNN tvnewsers frequent the Grill — we’ve spotted CBS’ Jeff Greenfield multiple times.

And last night, around 1amET, CNN commentators Donna Brazile and Roland Martin started up their own dance party, courtesy of the Jackson 5. Click continued to see the action (and to see another CNN commentators reaction)…

Powerful Foursome

Alright, the picture’s not fantastic. But when Hilary Rosen, CNN/U.S. president Jon Klein, Maria Shriver and Donna Brazile (l. to r.) struck up a conversation at the entrance of the CNN Grill, a dozen or so onlookers pulled out their cameras and cameraphones.
