Rich Rodriguez Joins CBS Sports Network

Rich Rodriguez, who was fired at Michigan in January following three disappointing seasons, is joining CBS Sports Network as a color analyst for games with play-by-play man Dave Ryan and will also appear in studio and on the network’s weekly radio show. CBS Sports Network — formerly known as CBS College Sports and different from CBS Sports — airs Mountain West and Conference USA games and is in fewer than 40 percent of homes with televisions, according to the Associated Press.

RichRod was 16-22 with the blue and maize, and Michigan was hit with NCAA sanctions for the first time because of rules violations while he was coach. Matt Millen decimated the Lions during his stint as general manager and now enjoys a career as a broadcaster, so it seems like a future in sports television is bolstered by an ability to cripple a Michigan sports program.

How Many of NYMag.com's Users Know Cristiano Ronaldo?

NYMag.com is running one of those annoying popdown ads. The spot – for Armani Jeans at Macy’s – features an attractive, shirtless guy with a washboard stomach… who also happens to be Cristiano Ronaldo, the second-best soccer player in the world (behind this guy, who’s not nearly as pretty). One question for Armani: Why cast him? Americans have no idea who Ronaldo is.

It’s a strange choice, especially considering Megan Fox – who anyone can recognize – has her own Armani Jeans ad as well.
