WWE, 7-Eleven Team Up For Third Straight Summer

You know summer has arrived when the WWE collectible Slurpee and Super Big Gulp cups and straws are at your local 7-Eleven.

For the third consecutive summer, the WWE and the convenience store giant have teamed up to promote the sports entertainment brand.

Report: Shaquille O'Neal Headed To Turner Sports

The recently retired Shaquille O’Neal will join Turner Sports as a member of their broadcast team over ESPN, according to Darren Rovell of CNBC.

O’Neal hinted at a possible future in broadcasting during his retirement speech last month.

Let’s see how many times the Inside The NBA crew plays this clip next season (and by next season, I mean 2012-13).

SIRIUS XM Fantasy Sports Radio Hosts Aston Kutcher’s Celebrity Fantasy Football Draft

Mr. Kutcher is SIRIUS about fantasy football.

The television/movie/Twitter star will participate in the SIRIUS XM Fantasy Sports Radio’s weekend-long fantasy football weekend at the Palms Casino Resort. On Friday, he and Nathan Zegura, The Fantasy Consultant, will host Fantasy Football Live from 5-6 p.m. Afterward, the channel will broadcast Kutcher’s Celebrity Fantasy Football Draft, featuring insight and commentary from the pros.

Saturday will include a three-hour special dedicated to picking your team as thousands of participants gather at the Maloof brother’s resort for their very own drafts. Zegura and SIRIUS XM’s John Hansen will provide the live entertainment.

For one weekend, what happens in Vegas is broadcast on satellite radio.

Hawk Harrelson Forgets He Does Play-by-Play

Hawk HarrelsonChicago White Sox play-by-play man Hawk Harrelson has one very simple job to do: give a play-by-play description of what is happening on the field, while bantering with his booth-mate Steve Stone. Last night, when Minnesota Twins DH Jim Thome hit a game winning walk-off home run against the Sox, Harrelson was unable to do his job.

Thome hit the ball, and the booth went silent. For over a minute. The only worlds out of Harrelson’s mouth were “and we will be back,” when he threw to commercial.

Maybe GQ was on to something when they named Harrelson and Stone Major League Baseball’s “Worst Broadcast Booth.”
