Lightning's Stamkos on Cover of NHL 12

Tampa Bay Lightning Steven Stamkos was announced Wednesday as the cover boy for NHL 12 during the league’s annual awards show in Las Vegas. Stamkos, who was second in the league in goals (45) and fifth in points (91) breaks the Blackhawks’ two-year hold on the EA Sports honor. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane graced the last two covers.

“I was a big gamer, especially as a kid,” Stamkos said. “I asked for it every Christmas. You dream of playing in the NHL one day but you never really dream of being on the cover of the NHL video games, especially the most popular one. My friends are just as excited.”
