While TheBlaze has TV carriage agreements with some 11 other pay-TV operators, the Cablevision deal is the second big deal for the growing company, which began a major push to secure TV distribution earlier this year. DISH Network was the first major MSO to carry the channel last year.

The other 10 operators are smaller, independent cable companies, spread throughout the country. While TheBlaze seeks TV deals, it remains available to subscribers directly over the internet for a monthly fee.

• CNN is changing the name of Piers Morgan‘s program. Starting Monday the 9pmET show will be called “Piers Morgan Live,” and it will be, yes, live. The name is a throwback to the days of “Larry King Live.” Morgan explains the move here.

• Senator Rand Paul is making the rounds following his 13-hour filibuster yesterday. Paul spoke to Glenn Beck on his radio show and TV channel TheBlaze this morning, spoke to Dana Bash on CNN and will be on Fox News this afternoon to speak to Megyn Kelly.

• “Anchorman 2″ has started filming in Atlanta. ABC News has pictures from the set, including shots of Harrison Ford who plays the “Tom Brokaw” to Will Ferrell‘s “Ron Burgundy.”

The campaign is called GetTheBlaze, and encourages Beck fans to call their pay TV provider to get them to add TheBlaze to their channel lineup.

DISH Network already carries TheBlaze, as we noted last year. In fact, DISH is throwing its hat in support of the company’s efforts, giving a quote to the New York Times supporting TheBlaze:

“TheBlaze and Glenn Beck bring a unique perspective to Dish’s broad spectrum of political programming on all sides.” When the channel was added last fall, he said, “We had customers sign up quickly, and we saw new customers join Dish. In fact, subscriptions attributable to TheBlaze outpaced our projections by 80 percent, proving that Dish is giving customers what they want with a choice in programming, not to mention the technology to choose how to watch it.”

“As a viewer I don’t regret it,” Klein told HuffPost Live. “I watch him all the time. I think he’s been intelligent and provocative and he follows his own compass. That’s what we wanted, a guy who was an aggressive inquisitor, who spoke his mind, and could be as interesting as his guests. On most nights he does that.”

One regret Klein does seem to have, however, is not being able to convince his boss at the time, Jim Walton, to bring Keith Olbermann to CNN.

Also, Mediaite caught this portion of the chat, about Fox News and its chairman Roger Ailes.

“He pulls things out of nowhere, like that show The Five – I mean, that was a big, gaping hole,” Klein said. “He lost Glenn Beck who had millions of viewers and what does he do? Seamlessly, you know, replaces it with a team that can be a breeding ground for more talent.”

Apparently Beck’s company wasn’t even able to place a bid, because of its ideology, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Glenn Beck’s The Blaze approached Current about buying the channel last year, but was told that “the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view,” according to a person familiar with the negotiations.
