We ran in to NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker, with his own kids in tow. It gave Zucker flashbacks of another Today show concert nine years ago, when he was EP of the show. “Reminds me of Ricky Martin,” he tells TVNewser. Martin played the plaza to similar throngs in June, 1999.

We figure about 7,000 people were on hand this morning, some waiting since Tuesday.

The most interesting site may have been who else was there: baseball great Hank Aaron and Ralph Macchio. Yes, the Karate Kid bringing his own kids to the plaza to see Cyrus.

Now it’s a 8-block jog to Bryant Park for Feist. A full report later.
