TVNewser already gave you a roundup of some of the reviews for the new movie “Morning Glory,” which stars Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton and Rachel McAdams as the anchors and executive producer of a fictional network morning show, “Daybreak.”

There was, however, one more review we wanted to highlight.

Former “Good Morning America” and “Early Show” executive producer Shelley Ross reviewed the film for Newsweek, and it is a great read.

I more than humbly acknowledge that I bear no resemblance to the stunning McAdams or her fictional character. Harrison Ford and Diane Keaton, however, are, hauntingly at times, dead ringers for Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer, whom I produced for more than five years in the morning.

“Morning Glory,” the new movie about our industry, is leaving critics underwhelmed. The film is about a young producer played by Rachel McAdams who lands a job at a struggling network morning show called “DayBreak.” The show is anchored by an ex-beauty queen played by Diane Keaton and an ex-retired hard news man played by Harrison Ford. McAdams is hired by the network’s head of news played by Jeff Goldblum. The film’s screenwriter, Aline Brosh McKenna, wrote “The Devil Wears Prada” and the general consensus is that while McAdams is charming, the movie’s tone and direction is confused.

• The Associated Press’ Christy Lemire wasn’t impressed with the film, calling it a “vapid hodgepodge.”  It “feels like … well, a sunny, network morning show.” She does write that the movie “does get newsroom culture somewhat right, though, something so many other movies tend to get wrong.”

CBS News anchor Bob Schieffer, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and “60 Minutes” correspondent Morley Safer play themselves in the new movie “Morning Glory” about a young TV news producer played by Rachel McAdams and the morning show she oversees. These three tvnewsers have a scene at a bar with the anchor of the show played by Harrison Ford. The added punchline: Schieffer, Matthews and Safer don’t drink.
