More change at “Good Morning America Weekend.” As of this morning, the show is no longer being broadcast from the Times Square studios and has returned to ABC’s studios near New York’s Lincoln Center. GMA Weekend will now be broadcast from TV-3, home to other ABC News broadcasts. In addition to being a cost-saving move, the studio switch is logistically more sensible. Instead of a live camera of Times Square as its backdrop, the show is using a still image of Times Square.

In recent months the show has lost its two main anchors: Kate Snow left ABC News to NBC News and Bill Weir to Nightline as a co-anchor. And last weekend weathercaster Marysol Castro left the show. Today’s weather reports came from J.C. Monahan of ABC’s Boston affiliate WCVB.

Weekday Good Morning America will continue from the Times Square studio.
