Bauer was joined by her two familes — her biological one and the “Today” show gang, including Savannah Guthrie, Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Jeff Rossen, Tamron Hall, Barbara Corcoran and Jean Chatzky. “It’s just us! This is all you get,” joked Gifford as she greeted Bauer. Main anchors Matt Lauer, Ann Curry and Al Roker could not attend as Roker and Lauer were still in London covering the Queen’s Jubilee and Curry was on vacation.

The author of several books, Bauer told us “Joy Fit Club” is different in that it’s her first in conjunction with “Today” and her segments of the same name.

The cookbook and diet plan “comes from 6 years of ['Today' show segments] trying to show people how to eat well and stay healthy,” Bauer tells us.

We caught up with Bell who has personally benefited from Bauer’s wellness tips, shedding 50 pounds, and keeping it off. The “Today” show frontman is about to turn his attention to the Olympics where he’ll be taking over for legendary Olympics showrunner Dick Ebersol producing NBC’s primetime. That means a lot of long days ahead.

“It’ll be Midnight London time, 7pm on the east coast until 5am every night,” says Bell. “I’ll get a few hours of sleep, and then go check out the ‘Today’ show.” The time difference means the morning show will start at Noon London time, each day.

NBC may want to bring along Bauer just to make sure everyone’s eating healthy.

Fox News and Fox Business have brought on Vicky Ward, the British-born author and journalist, as a contributor. Ward, who has contributed to CNBC and Bloomberg, is the author of the New York Times Best Seller “The Devil’s Casino: Friendship, Betrayal, and the High Stakes Games Played Inside Lehman Brothers.” Her first Fox appearance will be Thursday.

• CNBC’s Brian Sullivan begins reporting from Singapore tomorrow from the 2012 YPO Global Leadership Summit. This is part of a new partnership between CNBC and the Young Presidents’ Organization. The YPO will advise and inform CNBC’s audience and editors on what CEOs are experiencing on the frontlines of the economy.

• Jean Chatzky makes her television hosting debut tonight on “Cash Call” on RLTV. The network says the live 30-minute call-in show, at 8pmET, will “help set viewers on the path to financial health by offering thoughtful advice, a dose of empathy and practical, actionable strategies.”

• ABC’s Diane Sawyer gets the post-SOTU interview with Pres. Obama. Sawyer will interview the president in Las Vegas Thursday. Sawyer will anchor “World News” from Nevada, which holds its GOP caucus Feb. 4.

• NBC News and RLTV, (Redefining Life after 50) will co-produce a new television show hosted by “Today” show financial editor Jean Chatzky. “Cash Call With Jean Chatzky” premieres Tuesday, February 28.

• LAObserved reports longtime NBC News correspondent George Lewis is hanging up his mic. Lewis’ last day with the network is next Tuesday. One of NBC’s most honored correspondents, Lewis joined NBC in 1970 reporting from Vietnam.

“Suze went to Chicago to celebrate her birthday and didn’t expect to leave her appendix behind,” a CNBC spokesperson tells TVNewser. “Northwestern Hospital took great care of her. It was a great team of doctors and a successful surgery. She will be recuperating in Florida.”

Orman had been scheduled to appear on a “Women and Finance” panel at the 92nd Street Y in Manhattan on Wednesday, but had to abruptly cancel (“Today” Financial Editor Jean Chatzky fills in). No word on when she’ll be back in the studio for CNBC.

As far as cable news appendectomies go, Orman’s in interesting company. FNC’s Glenn Beck had his appendix removed after an attack back in November and Keith Olbermann had his removed in 2007.

On FBNY, Amanda writes about her experience and includes this factoid: “After I was made pretty and mic’d up, I was all ready to be interviewed by Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford. Gifford is not shaking hands anymore because of swine flu, so she wanted to bump butts, which was hard to do while I was sitting down.”

> ABC’s Deborah Roberts and her husband, NBC’s Al Roker, will appear in a forthcoming Sesame Street special, “Families Stand Together: Feeling Secure in Tough Times”. The program, which will also feature Today financial expert Jean Chatzky, is scheduled to air in September.
