The Bush Who is in Washington for the Inauguration

The two Presidents Bush will not be attending today’s second Inauguration of Pres. Obama. But former first daughter and granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager is there. The NBC News contributor was on set with Brian Williams, Savannah Guthrie and David Gregory to talk about being a member of the First Family. “We may have had a little — a couple mix-ups,” said Jenna who, with her twin Barbara, was in college when their father was in the White House. “We weren’t going to bring it up,” said Guthrie, laughing. “I think one of the things that my parents did and the Obamas seems to be doing, is just letting them grow up, letting us grow up, as normal as you can be.”

No word on whether the other presidential daughter/NBC News contributor Chelsea Clinton will take part in NBC’s coverage.

Chelsea Clinton to Report for NBC News Shows

NBC’s “Today” show has Jenna Bush, now NBC News has hired another former first daughter to report for the “Nightly News” and “Rock Center” broadcasts.

Chelsea Clinton will be a special correspondent for the shows specifically the “Making a Difference” series.

“Our ‘Making a Difference’ segments have become a signature of the broadcast,” says anchor and managing editor Brian Williams. “They adhere to a simple goal of highlighting the good works being done across the country and around the world. Chelsea Clinton possesses an uncommon understanding of humanity. We are so excited she’s joining us to tell the stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things.”

“I have long been impressed that Brian and his team at NBC place consistent importance on sharing stories of empowerment that in turn, help empower other people and families,” said Clinton. “I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this tradition.”

Clinton’s TV news hire is making news this morning on Fox Business Network, Bloomberg, CNN, HLN and NBC. The New York Times reports Clinton will donate any money she earns from NBC to the Clinton Foundation and the George Washington University Hospital.

The daughter of 43 interviewed 42 on NBC this morning.

“Today” show contributor Jenna Bush chatted up former Pres. Bill Clinton at his Clinton Global Initiative gathering in Miami. “I was thinking, you know, if your family fed in questions I’d be cooked,” said Clinton. “No, no. They love you,” said Bush. “In fact, they joke that you’re my grandfather’s stepson.”

Bush and Clinton talked about the bi-partisan approach to Haiti rebuilding, the mission of the Initiative and Chelsea Clinton‘s wedding.

First Big Sweeps Get: Diane Sawyer’s Rihanna Interview

Yes, it’s November sweeps where national and local news outlets air their best stories and big interviews. Later this month, you’ll hear from Sarah Palin and Janet Jackson. Just last night, NBC amortized its deal with Jenna Bush as she appeared on “The Jay Leno Show” fronting the 9@9 interview segment featuring her mother, former first lady Laura Bush (it was 9@9 instead of 10@10 adapting to the Central time zone.)

This morning, part I of Diane Sawyer‘s exclusive interview with Rihanna. And you have to give credit to the GMA producers for stating, in the intro to the story, that tomorrow’s part II will include Rihanna describing “in detail what happened in the car with Chris Brown.”
