Wolfe had been co-anchor of the Sunday edition of the program. Dylan Dreyer will remain in her role as weather anchor for the program.

CBS said it has been trying to find a new job for Hill … Now, it appears the network has let her out of her contract so she can jump to NBC.

Hill became the weekend anchor of “The Early Show” in 2008, splitting her time between CBS and CNN. She left CNN in 2010 when she was named weekday anchor of “The Early Show.”

The weekend edition of “Today” is anchored by Lester Holt and, on Sunday, by Jenna Wolfe. In May, Saturday co-anchor Amy Robach left NBC for ABC where she has been recently been filling in for Robin Roberts on “GMA.”

NBC TV may have the rights to Super Bowl XLVI, but if you turn on just about any NBCU channel or watch any NBC-produced program you will see Super Bowl-themed programming next week.

NBC, CNBC, Golf Channel, Bravo, Weather Channel, E!, Telemundo, and G4 will all be taking part. The newly named NBC Sports Network (formerly OLN, formerly Versus) will air more than 18 hours of live programming ahead of the game.

The “Today” show starts next Friday, a split show with Al Roker and Ann Curry from Pan Am plaza in downtown Indianapolis. Jenna Wolfe is there for Saturday “Today.” And Natalie Morales and Savannah Guthrie will join coverage Sunday morning. It hasn’t been announced yet, but Matt Lauer will likely get a pre-game interview with Pres. Obama at the White House, which has become an annual event.

Absent from NBC’s listings is “Meet the Press.” The last two years, when the game was on FOX and CBS, “Fox News Sunday” and “Face the Nation” originated from Cowboys Stadium and Sun Life stadium, respectively.

Fourth hour hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford were early arrivals, with Kotb (below) front and center during Pit Bull’s set. We spotted NBC News president Steve Capus and “Today” EP Jim Bell working the room, as longtime EP and, later NBCU president Jeff Zucker was deep in conversation with former “Today” anchor Meredith Vieira.

“Today” senior broadcast producer Don Nash, who’s been with the show more than a third of its life — 23 years — tells TVNewser tomorrow’s anniversary program is not to be missed. All former living on air talent — save for Joe Garagiola and Gene Shalit who aren’t able to make it — will be a part of the show. And we spotted many of them at the party tonight, including Tom Brokaw, Katie Couric, (above) Barbara Walters, John Palmer and Hugh Downs.

NBC spared no expense flying in correspondents from other NBC bureaus including Andrea Mitchell, Kerry Sanders, Kevin Tibbles, Janet Shamlian and Luke Russert.

Brian Williams stopped in after “Nightly News.” And we chatted with “Today” anchors Savannah Guthrie, Jenna Wolfe and Amy Robach, here with husband Andrew Shue, and said hello to Willard Scott on our way out. Other “Today” regulars celebrating  included Jill Rappaport, Martha Stewart, the Scotto family and Bobby Flay. We chatted with Andy Cohen (mostly about NeNe Leakes) who later tonight will be interviewing Rosie O’Donnell on his Bravo show, “Watch What Happens Live.”

Rounding out the crowd: Willie Geist, Jeff Rossen, Martin Bashir, Carl Quintanilla, Andrew Ross Sorkin, Tyler Mathisen, MSNBC president Phil Griffin and CNBC president Mark Hoffman and many more I may have missed. Lester Holt, Amy Robach and Jenna Wolfe left their creature comforts — and their BlackBerrys — behind for a trip to southern Utah, where they spent a night at an overnight survival camp with no tents, sleeping bags or stoves. The trio navigated the desert, cooked dinner over a fire and even slept in a cave (reportedly with little more than a blanket). Sterger interviewed amateur fighters during the pair of one-hour specials taped early last month in LaCrosse, Wis.

Hometown Throwdown is set to air in June and contestants are competing for the Hometown Hero title.

It marks the first job for Sterger since The Daily Line on Versus was canceled last November.

Sterger’s agent, Mark Turner, told the New York Post that “Jenn has also had discussions with a number of media companies and has been in talks about a variety of opportunities.”

But the stories of Lauer’s infidelity continue with another cover story in “The National Enquirer” this week, this time involving other members of the “Today” show family including Natalie Morales and Jenna Wolfe. The story has prompted this response from NBC News:

The allegations surrounding Matt Lauer are completely inaccurate and unfounded. These accusations are reckless and harmful to the Lauer family. Equally reckless, irresponsible and inaccurate are the accusations about his “Today” show colleagues. Matt and his wife have spoken out on this on the record and will not be discussing it further.

Last week’s Enquirer story got widespread, mainstream pickup in publications including the Daily News and Los Angeles Times.
