The flurry of behind-the-scenes moves at ABC News continues.
“This Week” EP Jonathan Greenberger has been promoted to VP and DC Bureau Chief while Robin Sproul, who’s served as DC Bureau Chief for 21 years, has been upped to VP of Public Affairs, network President James Goldston announced today. Greenberger will also stay on as head of the Sunday show.
Goldston praised both in a note to staff: “In the past year alone, she [Robin] has been named one of the “100 Most Influential People in Washington,” one of Washingtonian Magazine’s “Most Powerful Women,” and was awarded the “First Amendment Service Award” by the RTDNA.”
“In the year since he was appointed Executive Producer of “This Week”, Jonathan and his team have reinvented the Sunday morning news format, doubling down on their commitment to covering policy and politics while also embracing new ways of telling stories.”
These changes, first reported by Politico, come after a busy last week. As we first reported, “Good Morning America” SR. EP Tom Cibrowski‘ was promoted to senior VP of programs, newsgathering and special events. That change produced two others: “World News” EP Michael Corn taking over as EP of “GMA” and “Nightline” EP Almin Karamehmedovic taking the reins at “World News.”
