The After Party: Willard and Cavuto Reflect

Fox Business Network anchors Cody Willard and Neil Cavuto looked back on last week’s tea parties.

Kate O’Hare of Zap2It.com interviews Willard (who partied in Boston):

It was an anti-partisan crowd. It was not a left or right thing. I do think the Republican Party did try to make it a right-wing thing, but that being said, I think basically the crowds were anti-Republican and anti-Democrat. They were equally angry, and rightly so, at both parties…One of the best signs I saw out there yesterday said, ‘O is the new W.’ And that’s the problem. It’s both parties equally.

Malcolm Maclachlan of Capital Weekly talked to Cavuto (who partied in Sacramento):

We can’t pick and choose our rages. I would be more curious why others (networks) chose not to. I guess you can be dismissive all you want. You can say this is just a few rich people gathering in a town center to bitch. People I talked to, certainly in Sacramento, didn’t seem rich to me. A lot of them wish they could be. A lot them are average Joes and Joanns who didn’t look rich, dress rich, act rich, talk rich. They were just very concerned about a government that seemed to be getting bigger.

Santelli Has A Tea Party Partner in FBN’s Willard

willard_3-5.jpgAll those Rick Santelli-inspired tea parties happening around the country? His competitor at FBN, Cody Willard, is “all for them.”

Zap2It.com’s Kate O’Hare profiles the Happy Hour co-host, and talked to him about some anti-socialism plans he has in the works. “I’ve even started a social network called SpokeUp.com,” says Willard. “We’re organizing April Fool’s Day Spokeup marches. What we want is for everybody to march on their local town hall on April Fool’s Day against the Republican-Democrat socialist regime.

“You get as much local coverage as you can — your newspaper, your radio, TV, whatever. Just get as much coverage as you can at your town hall and fight this stuff. We’ve got to start somewhere. It’s going to be on the individual, grassroots level, as always.”

Huckabee Talks Host/Guest Relationship

huckabee_12-21.jpgFNC host, author and former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is profiled by Kate O’Hare of Zap2It (appearing here in the Buffalo News).

Huckabee describes the TV hosting job as “an experience that takes me full circle.”

O’Hare writes about the long list of liberal guests who have appeared on “Huckabee,” including Richard Dreyfuss, Bill Maher and Oliver Stone. This week, Fran Drescher, the actress seeking Sen. Hillary Clinton‘s Senate seat, appears on the program.

“The words ‘host’ and ‘guest’ imply something to me,” says Huckabee. “They imply that the host is extending hospitality to those whom he invites, and that the guest will be treated with dignity and respect and hopefully, in turn, will act like a guest.”
