Hopkins-Dawson Set For Oct. 15 On HBO

Bernard Hopkins will defend his WBC light heavyweight championship Oct. 15 on HBO when he steps in the ring with Chad Dawson.

It’s Hopkins’ first title defense since he defeated Jean Pascal on May 21 to become the oldest champion in boxing history.

A venue for the fight is in the works and will be announced later this summer.

YES Network, DirecTV Sign New Multiyear Agreement

The YES Network reached a multiyear agreement with DirecTV Thursday night, six days after their original contract expired.

Financial terms were not disclosed and comes hours before the Yankees travel to Fenway Park and battle the Boston Red Sox. Despite their deal expiring last week, there was never a disruption in service.

FoxSports.com And NESN Enter Digital Partnership

FoxSports.com on MSN and NESN announced on Thursday a new digital content sharing partnership that makes NESN.com the exclusive provider of New England and Boston sports news on FoxSports.com.

As part of the agreement, FoxSports.com will have the right to both publish and directly link to NESN’s spots news content and provide for cross promotional opportunities between the two sites.

“The FOX Sports Local websites are the fastest-growing regional sports websites in the country,” said Mike Hall, NESN’s Director of New Media. “We are proud to join the FOX Sports family of local websites to help extend their reach in the northeast while helping NESN to continue to grow our site as the premier destination for fans of New England sports.”
