Boston Bombings: Tuesday Coverage Notes

Brian Williams will anchor “NBC Nightly News” from Boston tonight.
“ABC World News with Diane Sawyer” will be expanded to an hour tonight. Terry Moran will anchor “Nightline” from Boston.
Scott Pelley will anchor “CBS Evening News” from Boston.
Shepard Smith will anchor his two Fox News Channel programs, “Studio B” and “The Fox Report,” from Boston tonight. He will be joined by Bill Hemmer, who arrived in Boston last night and anchored “America’s Newsroom” from the crime scene this morning. Rick Leventhal will also report from Boston during the network’s normal primetime programming. Molly Line and Mike Tobin are also in Boston for the network.
On CNN, Jake Tapper and Wolf Blitzer will host their afternoon shows from Boston. Anderson Cooper is also there and will anchor “AC360″ live at 8pmET and 10pmET. In place of re-airs, Erin Burnett will be live at 11pmET and Piers Morgan live at 12amET, both from New York. Chris Cuomo, John Berman, Sanjay Gupta, Don Lemon, Brooke Baldwin, Poppy Harlow, Brian Todd, Jason Carroll, Peter Hamby, Zain Asher, Gary Tuchman, Drew Griffin, Pamela Brown and Maria Santana are also in Boston for CNN.
Fox Business Network’s Neil Cavuto will host his 8pmET show live for the rest of the week.

Connecticut School Shooting: Sunday Coverage Plans

Coverage of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, will continue into Sunday on the broadcast and cable networks.

On CNN, Candy Crowley will anchor “State of the Union” from Newtown. Don Lemon, Wolf Blitzer, Erin Burnett and Anderson Cooper will anchor from Newtown Sunday, and the network will air a weekday primetime schedule. Fox News will again have an expanded edition of “Fox & Friends” beginning at 6amET Sunday, and MSNBC will have live programming until 6pmET. HLN will cover the shooting beginning at 7amET and going through 1pmET.

On the broadcast networks, the shooting will be the main topic of the Sunday public affairs shows. Connecticut governor Dannel Malloy will appear on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” CBS’ “Face the Nation” and ABC’s “This Week.”

On CBS, Jeff Glor will anchor “CBS Evening News” from Newtown. “CBS Sunday Morning” will also feature three segments on the shooting.

ABC’s Dan Harris, Amy Robach, and Lara Spencer will anchor “Good Morning America” from Newtown. David Muir will also anchor “World News” from the location of the shooting.

Fox News will air a two-hour special anchored by Bret Baier at 6pmET. Baier will be joined by Molly Line and Mike Tobin from Newtown, as well as chief White House correspondent Ed Henry.

MSNBC will be live through 9pmET with coverage of Obama’s visit.

On CNN, Anderson Cooper and Erin Burnett will anchor a three-hour special from Newtown beginning at 6pmET.

FNC and Fox’s Election Night Plans

Fox News Channel will have Megyn Kelly and Bret Baier anchoring on election night, while Shepard Smith will be anchoring on the Fox Broadcast Channel.

On FNC, Kelly and Baier will be joined by senior political analyst Brit Hume, “Fox News Sunday” moderator Chris Wallace, as well as contributors Joe Trippi, Karl Rove, Juan Williams, Stephen Hayes and Kirsten Powers. “O’Reilly Factor host Bill O’Reilly and “On the Record” host Greta Van Susteren will be providing commentary, and Van Susteren will also interview Fox News contributor Sarah Palin during the evening.

Correspondent Martha MacCallum will report on exit poll data, with Bill Hemmer manning the “bill-board,” FNC’s touchscreen. Carl Cameron and John Roberts will report from Romney HQ in Boston, with Ed Henry and Wendell Goler reporting from Obama HQ in Chicago. There will also be a number of correspondents in the field (after the jump).

On the Fox Broadcast Channel, FNC contributor Ed Rollins, Democratic strategist Mary Anne Marsh, and The Hill editor A.B. Stoddard will contribute to coverage.

Online, Jonathan Hunt and Harris Faulkner and Rick Folbaum will anchor video coverage on FoxNews.com, while Rick Sanchez will anchor on FoxNewsLatino.com in Spanish.

Fox News Blows Up Primetime Tonight To Focus On Hurricane Sandy

Fox News Channel is blowing up its primetime programming to provide coverage of Hurricane Sandy’s landfall. “Hannity” will air as normal at 9 PM, but every other program is affected by the changes. There will be live coverage going through tomorrow morning, where “Fox & Friends” will pick things up.

Tonight’s lineup:

“Fox Report” 7-9pm
“Hannity” 9pm
“On the Record” 10-midnight
“America’s News Headquarters special coverage of Monster Storm,” co-anchored by Gregg Jarrett and Heather Childers midnight to 4am
“Fox and Friends First” will begin again at 4am tomorrow
“Fox and Friends” 6-9am

Cable News Plans For Primaries in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island

Primaries are being held today in five states: Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. The cable networks will cover the results tonight in primetime.

On Fox News, Bret Baier will anchor a live “Special Report” at 11pmET. Baier will be joined by correspondents Carl Cameron, Ed Henry, Molly Line and James Rosen.

CNN and MSNBC will both cover the primaries as part of regular primetime programming. Polls will be closed in all five states by 9pmET, and presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is expected to speak in that hour.

More Political Coverage for Cable Networks as Week-Long Maine Caucus Concludes

Another weekend of political coverage is underway as Maine’s week-long GOP caucus concludes this evening. Although Maine’s caucus is non-binding, the cable networks will devote special coverage to the results in prime time tonight.

Chris Hayes will anchor two hours of coverage on MSNBC beginning at 6pmET. He will be joined by Melissa Harris-Perry.

CNN’s caucus special will be anchored by Wolf Blitzer, John King and Candy Crowley from Washington, DC. Coverage will begin at 7pmET after a special 6pmET edition of “The Situation Room.”

Fox News will feature regularly-scheduled Saturday night programming — “America’s News Headquarters” with Eric Shawn and Arthel Neville at 6pmET and “Fox Report” with Harris Faulkner at 7pmET.

Here’s who’s heading to — or already in — Massachusetts for tomorrow’s close Senate race to fill Ted Kennedy‘s seat.

November ’09 Elections: Cable Plans

Tomorrow, polls will open following an off-year election season that’s included closely followed races in Virginia, New Jersey, and New York. Here is a rundown of special coverage on the cable networks:

	Wolf Blitzer will be in D.C. anchoring coverage of the returns for CNN’s “Election Night in America.” Campbell Brown, Anderson Cooper, and Larry King will have an election focus for their programs and there will be a special “Larry King Live” at 12amET. Gloria Borger, Candy Crowley, John King, and Jessica Yellin, along with other correspondents, will appear during primetime programming.
	FNC will have live reporting throughout the day from Major Garrett and Jim Angle in D.C., Carl Cameron in Virginia, Shannon Bream in New Jersey, and Eric Shawn and Molly Line in New York. Martha MacCallum will anchor exit poll results. Bret Baier will anchor live from New York at 6pmET. Shepard Smith will anchor the 7pmET hour when Virginia poll results are expected. Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity will host their regular programs with updates from Smith and Baier. Smith and Baier will also be on with Greta Van Susteren at 10pmET.
	Chuck Todd will anchor live from D.C. at 11am and 2pmET and Ed Schultz will be live from New York at 4pmET. Special live editions of “Countdown, “The Rachel Maddow Show,” and “Hardball” will be presented at 10pm, 11pm, and 12amET.
	FBN’s election night coverage starts at 8pmET and will be anchored by Neil Cavuto in New York. Guests include former NJ governors Christie Whitman and Jim Florio, Rep. Scott Garrett (R-NJ), former VA governor George Allen, and PA governor Ed Rendell.
	At 7amET, PA Governor Ed Rendell will be a guest host on “Squawk Box.” From 7-9pmET, Larry Kudlow will anchor “A Special Edition of The Kudlow Report: Your Money, Your Vote” live from D.C. with guests including: Dick Armey, Lanny Davis, Ed Gillespie and MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough. CNBC’s John Harwood and Hampton Pearson will also report.
