HBO's 24/7 Returning For 2012 Winter Classic

NHL chief operation officer John Collins confirmed to The Globe and Mail that HBO’s 24/7 series would follow the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers prior to their Jan. 2 matchup in the Winter Classic.

24/7 Penguins/Capitals: Road to the NHL Winter Classic won a Sports Emmy Award for “Outstanding Edited Sports Special” and was also nominated in the “Outstanding Post Produced Audio/Sound” and “The Dick Schaap Writing Award” categories.

Something tells me that Rangers coach John Tortorella won’t be as charismatic as Pittsburgh Penguins coach “Disco” Dan Bylsma.

 

 

MTV News Planning Obama Town Hall

MTV Networks is planning to host a live town hall with President Obama October 14, an executive familiar with the program confirms to TVNewser.

The town hall, which was first reported this morning by Politico’s Playbook, will be held Thursday October 14 at 4 PM, and will run on MTV, BET, CMT, MTV Tr3s and other MTV Networks. The executive also said the event would be streamed live online via the network’s websites.

Politico reports that MTV’s Sway Calloway, CMT’s Kate Cook and BET’s April Woodard will host the town hall, which will have an audience comprised of young people.

As the new VP, you’ll be overseeing daily operations, including the reporting, writing, shooting, editing, digital production and broadcast of on-air and online video, articles, blogs and photos. You should be filled with ideas, adamant about getting the story and have a true passion for pop culture — Bieber, Bullock, Beyonce, et al.
