Nora Zimmett has been named senior vice president of live programming at The Weather Channel. Zimmett joins the network from CNN, where she was most recently the co-creator and executive producer of the weekend edition of “New Day” and “Smerconish.”
“Nora’s vast experience covering important issues makes her the ideal leader for a team with an editorial mission focused on safety and preparedness as well as science,” Weather Channel president David Clark said in a statement. “She is an amazing journalist and brings with her an understanding of storytelling and how important it is to our network.”
Prior to working at CNN, Zimmett worked at Bloomberg TV and Fox News. In her new role, she will be based in Atlanta.
