Michael Strahan Getting Shot To Replace Regis Philbin

Live With Michael & Kelly?

Former New York Giants defensive end and FOX NFL Sunday co-host Michael Strahan is getting an opportunity to co-host Live With Regis & Kelly within the next month. If Strahan does well, he could be selected as Regis Philbin‘s replacement.

Also rumored to be in the running to replace Philbin are Mario Lopez, actor Mark Consuelos (and Kelly Ripa‘s husband), 2o/2o anchor Chris Cuomo and former Access Hollywood reporter Tony Potts.

“Yeah, I’m serious,” Strahan said on the Dan Patrick Show.” “That would be a phenomenal job. I’d love it. I think it’s one of those spontaneous-type jobs. You have to be quick on your feet and witty and fun and keep up with the culture . . . and being able to banter back and forth and being able to talk about your life and be open about it. That’s what [Regis] does, and I think I’d love to do that.”
