Anderson Cooper ‘Hoping for the Best’ on NYE When It Comes to Kathy Griffin

Anderson Cooper Times SquareFamiliar faces will host CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage for the eighth consecutive year. “New Year’s Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin” airs Dec. 31 from 9pm to 12:30amET as 2015 is celebrated from NYC’s Times Square.

Expecting her usual high jinks, Cooper said, ”I’ve given up asking Kathy to watch what she says. There’s no point. I’m just hoping for the best.”

Kathy Griffin added, “I’m sorry to report Anderson Cooper will not be my attaché for New Year’s Eve this year on CNN. His vulgarity and crossing the line humor has proven to be too much for my virgin ears.”

CNN correspondents will also report live from celebrations across the globe, including London, Moscow, Beijing and Calcutta. Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon will be live from New Orleans Pamela Brown from Memphis, Gary Tuchman will cover the Crab Drop in Easton, MD and Richard Quest has the tough assignment of reporting from a cruise ship off Bahamas.

Michelle Kosinski Leaves NBC for CNN, Named White House Correspondent

michelle kosinskiCNN is making changes in the Washington bureau ahead of the 2014 midterms and 2016 Presidential elections. Michelle Kosinski is joining the network as White House correspondent and Dana Bash and Pamela Brown will add new responsibilities, bureau chief Sam Feist has announced.

Kosinski joins CNN from NBC News, where she has worked since 2005, most recently as a London-based foreign correspondent.

Bash, CNN’s chief Congressional correspondent, will also serve as the network’s lead reporter covering the 2016 field of Republican Presidential candidates. Brown, who joined CNN last year, has been named Justice correspondent, replacing Joe Johns, who was promoted to senior Washington correspondent last month.

“We have put together a powerhouse team of outstanding journalists whose reporting is second to none,” Feist said in a statement. “With Michelle, Dana, Pamela, Brianna [Keilar] and Suzanne [Malveaux] as well as our large roster of accomplished journalists, CNN is positioned to deliver the most in-depth, high caliber and informative political coverage anywhere.”

CNN Adds Three Correspondents

CNN is beefing up its correspondent ranks with the addition of three new correspondents.

Pamela Brown, George Howell, Alina Machado

Pamela Brown will become a network correspondent based in New York, where she will primarily report for CNN’s new morning program to be co-anchored by Chris Cuomo. George Howell is joining CNN full-time, where he will become a network correspondent based out of Chicago. Alina Machado will become a correspondent for CNN, CNN en Espanol and CNN Latino, and will be based in Atlanta.

Brown joins CNN from WJLA and NewsChannel 8 in Washington DC, where she was a reporter and Sunday evening anchor. Howell has been a contributor to CNN’s coverage for the last year or so, reporting on the death of Trayvon Martin in Florida. Machado joins CNN from ABC affiliate WSB in Atlanta.
