ABC News Hires Reena Ninan from Fox News

ABC News president Ben Sherwood is changing up a couple of correspondent assignments, while bringing on a new reporter: Reena Ninan, late of Fox News.

Ninan is joining the Washington, DC bureau after covering the Middle East for FNC. Ninan spent much of the past year reporting on  the Arab Spring from Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Gaza and the West Bank.

Also announced, Jim Avila, who has been based in New York, is relocating to Washington, D.C. where he will be Senior National Correspondent overseeing a new investigative unit focused on food, drug, airline and environmental safety issues. He’ll continue to contribute to “20/20” specializing in law and justice. Avila was the lead reporter on the death of Michael Jackson and the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray. And Lisa Stark, who has been covering federal policy, including transportation and the FDA, will now cover lifestyle stories for ABC News.

Fox News Correspondent Named ‘Woman on the Front Line’ by Glamour

Fox News Channel Middle East correspondent Reena Ninan gets highlighted in the July issue of Glamour. In an article looking at female war correspondents, Ninan is listed as a woman “On the Front Line” along with correspondents for Essence and NPR.

“The day I arrived in Baghdad, our hotel was car-bombed three times in 10 minutes. Three minutes after, we were on air,” Ninan recalled to Glamour.

The Glamour article focuses on New York Times photographer Lynsey Addario, who was arrested in Libya earlier this year, and also mentions the ordeal that CBS News correspondent Lara Logan faced in Egypt.

Fox News’ Reena Ninan & Newsweek‘s Kevin Peraino: It’s a Boy!

Fox News Channel Middle East correspondent Reena Ninan and Newsweek‘s Kevin Peraino are working on their latest project, baby Jackson — while Peraino works on his new book about Abraham Lincoln.

The happy couple had a baby boy on December 30, 2010 at 5:13pmET. Jackson Ninan Peraino was 6 lbs. 11 oz. when he came into the world at Sibley Hospital in DC.

They will all head back to Jerusalem in the spring.

Fox News Channel Pregnancies: Is there something in the water?

FNC contributor Rebbecca Diamond is pregnant. She was host of “Happy Hour” on FBN, which was canceled in June. Anchor for both FNC and WNYW, Heather Nauert, posted on her Facebook page that she is pregnant again. Her first child was born in October of last year. TVNewser learned in August that entertainment reporter Courtney Friel is pregnant. Reena Ninan, Middle-Eastern Correspondent, is pregnant with her first child.

The weather machine Janice Dean is pregnant with her second child. She recently tweeted: @janicedeanfox: “Felt the baby move this weekend! I have a feeling he’s going to be a kicker! :)

Fox News confirms all of the above pregnancies. And, I witnessed three pregnancies at the assignment desk during my time at FNC.
