Bomani Jones Prepared For Life After The Score

Bomani Jones might want to avoid taking a summer vacation next year.

For the second time in three years, Jones has returned from his annual R&R to find out the radio station he was employed by was going under.

Despite The Score Satellite Radio signing off for good on Sept. 1, The Morning Jones host was in relatively high spirits when SportsNewser spoke to him Tuesday night.

“Well, it wasn’t pleasant news. I was shocked,” Jones said. “You don’t expect this to happen. I got experience with this. It’s kind of shocking, but at the same time, I’m going to try to figure out what to do next.”

For the fans of his morning sports talk show who are wondering if The Morning Jones host has looked into starting a podcast network, Jones is exploring his options. Read more

LeBron James apologizes for 'The Decision'

No doubt feeling magnanimous following his team’s victory over the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals, LeBron James of the Heat last night offered an apology of sorts to the city of Cleveland, its fans and his ex-teammates for “The Decision” to take his talents to South Beach in that self-aggrandizing spectacle on ESPN last July.

“I knew I had to go through Boston at some point. I went through a lot signing to be here and the way it panned out. I apologize for the way it happened, but I knew that this opportunity was once in a lifetime.”

I, I, I, I…

LeBron also commented to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, “As much as I loved my teammates back in Cleveland, as much as I loved home, I knew I couldn’t do it by myself against (the Celtics).”

Well, at least he admits he needs help.

Scoops Callahan Sends Phil Jackson Into Retirement

And speaking of stupid questions

The final (possible) question in Phil Jackson‘s illustrious NBA coaching career came from 1920s reporter “Scoops Callahan,” aka local Dallas sports personality Tom Gribble.

Bill Simmons Loves Him Some Josh Freeman

While watching the Tampa Bay-Atlanta game at the bar on Sunday, I found myself doing my best Cousin Sal impersonation of Bill Simmons whenever quarterback Josh Freeman had the ball.

Simmons’ man crush on the Buccaneers quarterback has resulted in some great moments during Cousin Sal’s weekly segment on The B.S. Report where they guess NFL lines.

A listener has compiled all of the Freeman exchanges during the season into one clip.

Now I won’t feel silly about doing my Cousin Sal impersonation on Sunday when Freeman plays the Washington Redskins.
