Staff Changes at MSNBC

Some internal moves at MSNBC this week, and one new face added to the contributor mix. TVNewser has learned Robert Traynam, a former Comcast Network host, will join as a political analyst, while continuing as a columnist for Philadelphia Tribune. Before TV news, Traynham worked on Capitol Hill as a top aide to former senator, now GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Also, Robert Gifford has left the “Morning Joe” team and has been named senior producer of “Now with Alex Wagner.” And Matt Pitzer has been named senior producer for “Andrea Mitchell Reports” after working for the last year on the NoonET hour.

New ‘Morning Joe’ Senior Producer Joins from Fox News

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” has hired a new senior producer, Robert Gifford – who is currently a producer for Shepard Smith at Fox News. He starts with Morning Joe next Monday.

Gifford has been with Fox News since 2004. He started as a copy editor, writer, and associate producer for “Fox News Live,” then moved to producer of Fox News Channel daytime coverage, and has been a producer for “Studio B with Shepard Smith” since 2008.

He joins MSNBC next Monday.
