FNC and Fox’s Election Night Plans

Fox News Channel will have Megyn Kelly and Bret Baier anchoring on election night, while Shepard Smith will be anchoring on the Fox Broadcast Channel.

On FNC, Kelly and Baier will be joined by senior political analyst Brit Hume, “Fox News Sunday” moderator Chris Wallace, as well as contributors Joe Trippi, Karl Rove, Juan Williams, Stephen Hayes and Kirsten Powers. “O’Reilly Factor host Bill O’Reilly and “On the Record” host Greta Van Susteren will be providing commentary, and Van Susteren will also interview Fox News contributor Sarah Palin during the evening.

Correspondent Martha MacCallum will report on exit poll data, with Bill Hemmer manning the “bill-board,” FNC’s touchscreen. Carl Cameron and John Roberts will report from Romney HQ in Boston, with Ed Henry and Wendell Goler reporting from Obama HQ in Chicago. There will also be a number of correspondents in the field (after the jump).

On the Fox Broadcast Channel, FNC contributor Ed Rollins, Democratic strategist Mary Anne Marsh, and The Hill editor A.B. Stoddard will contribute to coverage.

Online, Jonathan Hunt and Harris Faulkner and Rick Folbaum will anchor video coverage on FoxNews.com, while Rick Sanchez will anchor on FoxNewsLatino.com in Spanish.

Fox News Channel Sets VP Debate Plans

Fox News Channel has solidified its coverage plans for the Vice Presidential Debate on Thursday. As with the first Presidential debate, Megyn Kelly and Bret Baier will co-anchor the special from 8:55-10:30, dubbed “America’s Election Headquarters: Vice Presidential Debate.”

“Fox News Sunday” moderator Chris Wallace, Brit Hume, Joe Trippi, Steve Hayes and Charles Krauthammer will provide analysis, with Carl Cameron, Steve Brown and Ed Henry reporting. Online, coverage will be anchored by Rick Folbaum and Harris Faulkner. Every program from 3PM onward (save for “O’Reilly Factor” at 8 PM) will originate from Kentucky on Thursday.

FNC has a partnership with Twitter for the debates, and will utilize Twitter’s data to bring viewers to gain insight into viewer sentiment, and to present the topics people are talking about on the service.

CNN announced its coverage plans for all of the debates late last month.

Networks Slate Special Coverage of Super Tuesday

Voters in 10 states head to the polls tomorrow to weigh in on the next GOP Presidential candidate. Here’s the plan for Super Tuesday coverage on the broadcast and cable news and business networks.

The broadcast networks:

“Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams will helm a one-hour special on NBC News from 10-11pmET. Williams will also present live updates on the voting results between 7-10pmET as news dictates. “Nightly” will be updated for later feeds throughout the evening.

Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulous will anchor special reports on ABC beginning at 7pmET. “World News” will also be updated for later feeds. At 11:35pmET, Terry Moran will anchor a special edition of “Nightline.”

On CBS, Scott Pelley will provide live primetime updates throughout the night.

Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff will anchor a live “PBS Newshour” at 11pmET.

On FOX, Shepard Smith will anchor live updates from 8-11pmET.

Cablers Head to Iowa for Straw Poll Coverage

Yesterday we told you what the network Sunday morning shows were up to this weekend, now it is the cablers turn to put their focus on Iowa. With the Iowa Straw Poll slated for Saturday, the cable channels are sending some of their top talent to the state, and planning special coverage on Saturday.

Cable Newsers Covering State Primaries

Tomorrow, May 18 will see a number of key statewide Republican and Democratic primaries, including elections in Pennsylvania, Arkansas and Kentucky. When there is politics involved, you can bet the cable newsers will be all over it.

MSNBC has Chris Matthews and Ed Schultz broadcasting live from the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia. “Hardball” will be bringing live coverage at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and midnight. Likewise “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” and “The Rachel Maddow Show” will be live during their regular time periods, as well as at 10 and 11 p.m., when their reruns typically air.

CNN has Candy Crowley in Pennsylvania, Dana Bash in Arkansas and Jessica yellin in Kentucky to cover the races there. In its Washington DC studio Wolf Blitzer will be on air all day long, with Gloria Borger providing political analysis and John King working the magic wall to break down the results county by county.

Fox News has Carl Cameron in Philadelphia, Shannon Bream in Arkansas and Steve Brown in Kentucky. “Hannity” and “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” will be live, with Bret Baier reading the election results.

Fox Business Network is also covering the election, with Neil Cavuto anchoring a “FOX Business Special: Election 2010,” starting at 8 p.m.
