Report: Goodman leaving Fox to join CBS college hoops team

Citing an unnamed source, The Big Lead reports that noted college basketball reporter Jeff Goodman is planning to leave his spot as lead basketball writer at Fox Sports and join rival CBS Sports. Goodman would not address the rumor, saying only, “I’m under contract at Fox Sports and I love it here.”

The Big Lead notes, “At CBS, Goodman would team with the other college basketball writer who breaks the majority of transfers/hires/fires/news, Gary Parrish. They would form a stronger news-breaking tandem than the (Pat) Forde/(Andy) Katz/(Dana) O’Neil triumvirate at ESPN. I imagine the lure of potential TV-time at CBS is probably an attractive one for Goodman.”

Mark Mulder Latest Lefty Joining Baseball Tonight

Former lefty Mark Mulder is the latest pitcher to join the Baseball Tonight team on ESPN as an analyst. Mulder will make his debut Friday during the midnight edition of the show and will appear throughout the season.

Last week, ESPN announced Jamie Moyer would spend the season working on Baseball Tonight while recovering from offseason surgery.

“I’m excited to join Baseball Tonight’s All-Star pitching rotation,” said Mulder. “I’m looking forward to working with my new team and lending some of the insight and perspective I gathered during my career.”
