Erin Burnett to Ted Nugent: ‘Don’t Talk About My Colleagues That Way’

Erin Burnett Ted NugentAfter cancelling on her last week, Ted Nugent joined Erin Burnett on “Outfront” last night to answer for the controversial comments he recently made about President Obama.

After saying there was no racial undertone to his “subhuman mongrel” comments about the president, Nugent went on a CNN tirade.

“For anyone to claim that I’m a racist…is the typical crap that the propaganda ministry in the media, particularly most of your cohorts there, even though I got Piers Morgan‘s ass thrown out, and I’ll do the same with Don Lemon and Wolf Blitzer.”

“Do me a favor, don’t talk about my colleagues that way…I respect them both greatly,” Burnett responded. “They don’t deserve respect,” Nugent shot back.

Blitzer voiced his agitation with Nugent’s comments last week, while Lemon said Nugent’s apology came with too many caveats.

Burnett then brought up chimpanzee comments Nugent made about the president: “If I called the president, who is a black president, a chimpanzee, I would and should be fired.”

Governor Rick Perry Says He Loves ‘Fair and Balanced’…on CNN

Blitzer PerryIn a discussion with Wolf Blitzer on CNN’s “The Situation Room” tonight, Texas Governor Rick Perry seemingly snuck in a subtle endorsement for Fox News while talking about Ted Nugent‘s controversial comments about President Obama.

“Good for you, I love fair and balanced,” Perry said in response to Blitzer conceding that Bill Maher has said some “disgusting” things of his own (Maher recently told Forbes working at CNN was “never, going to happen” for him).

“When Democrats say sick, obnoxious things, we report that as well…we’re not shy about that,” Blitzer added. “As well you should,” a giggly Perry responded.

Blitzer acknowledged Nugent’s comments rubbed him the wrong way: “He’s gone way over the top on this. It just gets me a little agitated.” For Perry’s part, he said he had a problem with Nugent calling the president a mongrel.

Blitzer’s exchange with Perry continues his weeklong coverage of Nugent’s comments. Blitzer and “Crossfire” co-host Newt Gingrich got into it Tuesday night.

Ted Nugent Speaks To ‘CBS This Morning’ In First Interview Since Secret Service Visit

Rocker Ted Nugent spoke to “CBS This Morning” today, his first interview since he was visited by the Secret Service following comments he made regarding President Obama.

Jeff Glor conducted the interview.

GLOR: Tell me about that [your meeting with the Secret Service] – how serious was it?

NUGENT: I feel sorry for liberals who can be that brain dead as to take a clear statement of fear on my part and turn it into a threat against somebody else.

GLOR: What did they say to you? How does that all take place?

NUGENT: “Hey Ted, good to meet you. Thanks for giving us the time. We appreciate you responding to our request.” And I said, “I appreciate it back because you guys are following up on your professional responsibilities even though you’re reporting to complete idiots who should probably be investigated.”
