In Murdoch Divorce Documents, the Pre-Nup, Post-Nups and Health Care Coverage

The National Enquirer got its hands on what it says are Rupert Murdoch‘s divorce papers. The ACTION FOR A DIVORCE document was filed yesterday in New York State Supreme Court. The three-page document reveals that not only was there a pre-nup before the 1999 wedding of Rupert Murdoch and Wendi Deng, but that there were two post-nuptial agreements several years into their marriage, following the births of their daughters.

The document also states “the defendant (Wendi) is advised that she may no longer be covered by the plaintiff’s health insurance plan upon entry of a judgment of divorce and that the defendant may be responsible for her own health care coverage.”

Two weeks from today, Murdoch’s media empire will also be split, with TV assests like Fox News, FOX-TV and the Film studios making up a new company called 21st Century Fox, while newspapers like The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post remaining News Corp. entities.

Testimony Temporarily Suspended After Rupert Murdoch Accosted

Parliament has temporarily suspended the testimony of Rupert and James Murdoch after a man appeared to attack the elder Murdoch with what Reuters describes as a plate with foam on it.

All three cable news channels cut away from the testimony immediately afterward. Fox News turned to a simulcast of Sky News. Richard Quest anchored on CNN and Thomas Roberts and Contessa Brewer on MSNBC, as all networks replayed the attack in slow motion and from different angles including showing Murdoch’s wife Wendi Deng (in pink jacket, below) coming to Murdoch’s defense, slapping the attacker.

Testimony resumed around 12:09pmET.

What’s a brunch without Kim Kardashian, Sherry Shepard, the Jonas Brothers, Chevy Chase, Rupert Murdoch and a couple hundred DC newsers?

The annual Garden Party at the home of ultimate DC media insider Tammy Haddad and her husband Ted Greenberg draws bigger boldface names with each passing year. This year’s brunch was dedicated to CURE Epilepsy and the Mother’s Day Everyday campaign. Susan Axelrod, wife of Pres. Obama adviser David Axelrod, was honorary chairwoman. The Axelrods’ daughter Lauren lives with uncontrollable epilepsy.

The Jonas Brothers pulled up just after we arrived. In addition to Chase, Shepard and Murdoch, with his wife Wendi Deng at his side, DC’s media elite rubbed shoulders under the tents. Kardashian, a guest of Van Susteren and Fox News, kept her mini-fan in hand during the 89-degree day. She’d taken the red-eye in, but stayed and chatted with the crowd for about an hour before heading out.

NBC/MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell has a big fan in the actor Steven Weber. “I watch MSNBC all the time,” said the “Happy Town” star with his former “Wings” wingman Tim Daly nearby.
