Ted Koppel’s Son Found Dead in NYC Apartment
The 40-year-old son of former ABC News anchor Ted Koppel has been found dead in a New York City apartment.
According to the AP, Andrew Koppel was declared dead at around 1:30amET Monday in an apartment in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan.
The New York Post reports Koppel, who lived in Queens, had been drinking with a man he met at a bar, and they eventually went to his apartment. That man, Russell Wimberly told the Post that Koppel later appeared not to be breathing and he called 911.
Andrew Koppel is one of Ted Koppel’s four children. Another, his daughter Andrea Koppel, was a D.C.-based correspondent for CNN until 2007.
