The Fallout From Bleeping “Mr. O’Reilly”
On Tuesday’s Red Eye, High Times Magazine editor and author of “The Official High Times Pot Smoker’s Handbook,” David Bienenstock was interviewed, joking about how “Fox News has the best weed in the world” after his green room visit.
Regular panelist Bill Schulz responded, but it was bleeped: “…does not like it when you get into his personal stash.”
It turns out Schulz had said “Mr. O’Reilly,” which was picked up on by Countdown with Keith Olbermann the next night. That drew a Red Eye response last night.
An FNC spokesperson tells TVNewser, “The show acted unilaterally. No one told them to bleep O’Reilly’s name.”
(Also, a quick shout out to “Bean,” who was an all-star last year in the mediabistro.com basketball league.)
