Rachel Maddow celebrated her five year anniversary as an MSNBC primetime host last night. “The Rachel Maddow Show” debuted on September 8, 2008, in the height of the Presidential election between Barack Obama and John McCain.
“Five years has flown by, but we all here are quite acutely conscious of what a rare thing it is for a show in this business to make it to five years,” Maddow said. “Speaking for myself, I feel lucky and blessed and grateful — grateful to MSNBC for putting us on the air, grateful to the best staff in television who I get to work with every day, and grateful most of all to you.” Watch:
