The Story Behind That Ad

NYFANBC_4.20.bmpThe NYTimes’ Elizabeth Jensen has the lowdown on what’s behind that ad that you’ve probably seen, and heard, here on TVNewser. Jensen writes, “Readers of media-related Web sites have been bombarded with ads promoting NBC News’s partnership with the New York Film Academy.”

The program began when employees in NBC’s technical ranks expressed a need to stay cutting edge. The goal is to attract about 100 students across three campuses to the yearlong program, which begins Sept. 22, and charges tuition of $35,366. NBC gets an undisclosed percentage of that.

Jensen writes that NBC News employees, from camera operators to correspondents to News division president Steve Capus, “will be actively involved in the program, with a weekly presence.”
