> 20/20 was the #1 program at 10pm on Friday in both A25-54 and 18-49 for the third time in its last four telecasts. ABC News had the top two newsmagazines last week, with 20/20 and Primetime: What Would You Do?

> CBS News’ 48 Hours: Live to Tell at 10pm on Saturday was the #1 program of the night in both households and viewers. In its timeslot, it was #1 in the A25-54 and A18-49 demo as well.

> The Hollywood Reporter’s Paul J. Gough writes about a “chance encounter” with “the late Douglas Edwards, that got me started on a career that ends this week.” “You don’t have to have a background or interest in TV news to cover it effectively, but I’ve found it sure makes it a lot more fun,” writes Gough.
