The Ticker: Cronkite, Ross, Todd

  • KAET-TV will become part of ASU’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication next week. The PBS station, which had been run by ASU’s Office of Public Affairs, will be the largest media organization operated by a journalism school in the world.

  • ABC’s Brian Ross took home a Gerald Loeb award Tuesday night for best investigative report for his story on black lung. “Breathless and Burdened: Dying from Black Lung, Buried by Law and Medicine,” was produced in partnership with The Center for Public Integrity.

  • NBC’s Chuck Todd got the first TV news interview with new White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest today. Earnest, a Missouri native, even worked in a Harry Truman reference. “I have a feeling we’re going to hear a lot more Harry Truman references from you,” said Todd.
