The Ticker: Earnings, Layoffs, Cavett Chat

  • Now that the deal is off, it’s back to business for Time Warner and 21st Century Fox. Both came out with earnings after the bell Wednesday. Fox’s revenue for the quarter was $8.42 billion, while Time Warner reported revenue of $6.8 billion.

  • Capital reports that as CNN’s digital politics unit restructures, more than a dozen current employees will see their jobs eliminated. Anyone can re-apply for what CNN says is an even greater number of new jobs that will be created.

  • Dick Cavett will be live on the PBS Facebook page at 11:30amET to answer your questions about Watergate, 40 years later. Cavett is hosting a special for PBS tomorrow night on the scandal that led to the resignation of Pres. Richard Nixon.
