CBS News Hires Digital Journalist Based in Afghanistan

Mandy Clark has been named CBS News Digital Journalist based in Kabul, Afghanistan. As a digital journalist, Clark will be involved in the reporting, videotaping and editing of her stories for all CBS News platforms. "Mandy has done great work from the field in all conditions and we are pleased that she is joining CBS News," said CBS News SVP Paul Friedman.

Most recently, Clark was a video journalist for Voice of America News (VOA) and Global News. She's traveled extensively in the Middle East and Central Asia, and reported on the war in Afghanistan.

International Journalist Will Be Based in Afghanistan

Mandy Clark has been named CBS News Digital Journalist, Paul Friedman, Senior Vice President, CBS News, announced today. In this position, Clark will provide digital reports and contribute to CBS News broadcasts across the network. She will be based in Kabul, Afghanistan and her appointment is effective immediately.

"Mandy has done great work from the field in all conditions and we are pleased that she is joining CBS News," said Friedman. "Mandy is intrepid and her wealth of experience reporting from the Middle East, Central Asia and elsewhere and her adroit use of technology, make her a terrific addition."

Most recently, Clark was a video journalist for Voice of America News (VOA) and Global News. In this capacity, she traveled extensively, predominantly in the Middle East and Central Asia, and reported on the war in Afghanistan, as well as the elections. She was involved in every aspect of the editorial process including reporting, filming and editing.

Prior to joining VOA, Clark, a multiple-award-winning journalist, was a television news producer for Britain’s Sky News where she wrote scripts and provided audio reports for the early morning World News program.

Previously, Clark worked for TV3 Ireland as a producer and reporter and oversaw foreign news packages and as a digital journalist at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Clark received a Bachelor of Journalism from Carleton University
