Tim Russert: “I Just Do My Job”

After criticism of his questioning of Sen. Hillary Clinton during last Tuesday’s Democratic debate by some in her camp, NBC’s Tim Russert tells TVNewser he “went back and watched the debate again.”

“You can blame the press, but in the end, people are going to make a judgment about your own performance. Every question was very straightforward,” Russert tells TVNewser.

“I asked Sen. Obama the same question, about illegal immigrants driving, which got kinda lost,” Russert says. “Whenever I ask tough questions people see things through their own political or ideological prism. I just do my job.”

“The questions were about Iraq, Iran, Social Security, experience, and immigration. And I think those are all Presidential issues, Russert tells us. “So, on to the next debate, on to the next program.”
