‘Today’ Poised to Win Second Straight Week

today in sochiAccording to Nielsen national fast program ratings, NBC’s “Today” show has won in total viewers and in the A25-54 demographic for the second week straight as the show originated from Olympic Park in Sochi, Russia.

  • Fast National program ratings for week of February 17, 2014:

NBC: 5,855,000 total viewers / 2,317,000 A25-54
ABC: 5,588,000 total viewers / 2,172,000 A25-54

“Today” topped “GMA” by +278,000 total viewers (+5%) and +145,000 in the demo (+7%). For the first week of the Olympics, “Today” led “GMA” by +3% in total viewers and +7% in the demo.

Compared to the second week of the 2010 Olympics, when “Today” was still the dominant broadcast, NBC was down -7% in total viewers and -21% in the A25-54 demographic. NBC led ABC that week by +1,679,000 total viewers and +950,000 A25-54 viewers.

Final ratings will be released Thursday.
