Tom Snyder Dies

snyder_7.30.jpgLegendary news anchor and talk show host Tom Snyder has died. Snyder was an anchor at KYW, WNBC and KNBC before hosting the late-night Tomorrow program on NBC in the late 1970′s. He returned to TV in the 1990′s hosting a talk show on CNBC and in 1995, became the first host of The Late, Late Show on CBS.

Neal Kendall, EP of Tavis Smiley on PBS, who once worked with Snyder, writes to TVNewser, “The Tomorrow Show on NBC was perhaps the most eclectic and unique late-night program in the history of the medium. Tom was a great friend to so many of us who came to know and love him.”

Snyder died Sunday in San Francisco from complications of leukemia. He was 71.
