US Open Men's Final Streamed Live

For the third consecutive year, rain pushed the US Open men’s final to Monday afternoon. For the third consecutive year, CBSSports.com and USOpen.org will stream the event live so all the poor souls at work can stop what they are doing and watch.

No. 1-seeded Rafael Nadal will take on No. 3-seeded Novak Djokovic at 4 p.m.

In 2009, Juan Martin del Potro defeated Roger Federer, who many predicted would battle Nadal for the ’10 championship but lost to Djokovic in the semifinals over the weekend.

The streaming plan will help more people see the match, but moving the event to Monday is a ratings apocalypse. According to the Washington Post,, “the 2008 rain-delayed final between Federer and Scotland’s Andy Murray drew a 1.7 rating. The 2009 final between Federer and Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro did slightly better, 2.3.”
