Veronica De La Cruz Freelancing for MSNBC/NBC News

Former CNN reporter and anchor Veronica De La Cruz, seen most recently “anchoring” a corporate business conference, has landed some freelance work at NBC News.

A tipster noted that De La Cruz was anchoring “Early Today” on NBC this morning, and was also on MSNBC delivering overnight updates and appearing on “First Look.” A spokesperson for NBC News confirms that De La Cruz is freelancing for the company.

Former FNC meteorologist Domenica Davis has also been filling in as a freelancer on the programs recently.

Last year, De La Cruz made headlines when she turned to the web to help save her brother Eric, who was in need of a heart transplant. Eric died on July 4 of last year, leading De La Cruz to become an advocate for health care reform.
