‘View,’ ‘GMA’ Take Home Daytime Emmys

emmy-8-31.jpg At the 36th Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony, both ABC’s “Good Morning America” and “The View” were awarded prizes. “GMA” won the Emmy for “Outstanding Morning Program,” their third win in a row. ABC News President David Westin said, “We knew they are the best, and it’s nice to know others know it too. Congratulations to all of our ‘GMA’ colleagues on a well-deserved honor.”

Barbara Walters and her co-hosts finally won their first Daytime Emmy for “Outstanding Talk Show Host.” “The View” has been nominated for the award, but never received a statue. The win must have been relatively unexpected this time around because no one showed up to accept.

Overall, ABC won 17 awards. Full list here.
