“We Like To Say ‘Fair & Accurate’”

Over the weekend, Jon Friedman noticed that right-leaning actor Ben Stein delivered an “open letter” to President Bush on CBS’s Sunday Morning program. It “amounted to an unabashed op-ed,” so it a sign that CBS is shifting to the right? CBS News spokeswoman Marcy Erhard shrugged it off:

“We try to be fair and accurate,” Erhard said. I couldn’t resist. “Did you say ‘fair and balanced,’” I kidded, playing on Fox’s tag line. “We like to say, ‘fair and accurate,’” she retorted. Fair enough. Fair and accurate — and maybe even a little less liberal?
