Weather Channel Cuts Environmental Unit

Following up on yesterday’s item about cuts at The Weather Channel, NewsBlues has more on the layoffs. The “entire TWC Environmental Unit” has been scrapped which includes the weekend program “Forecast Earth,” Newsblues reports. That show is fronted by former CNN and MSNBC anchor Natalie Allen.

NewsBlues also reports the cuts, “will most likely exceed the 50 job losses initially reported.”

Meanwhile, The Weather Channel is getting into the spirit of one of its parent companies, turning the normally blue logo green this week as part of the “Green is Universal” initiative.
