What ‘Squawk Box’ Were You Watching?

MarketWatch.com’s Jon Friedman and The New York TimesPaul Krugman may have different opinions on a lot of things. And today we learned CNBC’s “Squawk Box” is one of them.

In his column today, Friedman details his experience watching the morning show “with a critical eye.” He concludes hosts Joe Kernen and David Faber, “remain the heart of CNBC,” providing stability for the network in the “notoriously topsy-turvy business” of television news.

But Krugman has a different take. He was on the show this morning scheduled to talk about his book, but the conversation veered to a place Krugman didn’t appreciate.

He wrote a blog post about it titled “Zombies at CNBC.”

“[P]eople getting their news from sources like that are probably getting terrible advice about any kind of investment that depends on macroeconomics,” Krugman writes, adding, “All that and having to get to Englewood Cliffs, too.”
