What’s With That Dot On MSNBC?

MSNBCDot_7.31.jpgOkay. It’s small, really small, barely noticeable. But our eagle eyed Chicago contributor Alissa Krinsky spotted it. A very small white dot next to the NBC peacock in the MSNBC lower third logo.

An MSNBC spokesperson helps us get to the bottom of it.

Turns out the dot is a signal for cable operators letting them know they are getting the proper Olympics feed. Olympics programming begins on MSNBC on Wednesday, two days before the opening ceremony. We’re told testing with the cable networks is nearly complete and the dot should be gone by tomorrow.
